The Mirror Calls Back

Mirror Image

© N Noël Jun 2008

Mirror mirror on the wall who’s inside hear my call.

Don’t retreat or except defeat keep moving to your own inner beat.

That reflection it calls back to me wondering where and when it lost

the friend trapped inside that mirror image on the other side.

Did it betray you? Made promises that have not come true?

Is it all a lie that mirror image on the other side.

Can’t call it friend or enemy it’s not just a part it’s all of me.

Can’t turn away forget you exist you will persist until I accept you.

That mirror image on the other side.

Some days a stranger others a friend.

Each day it changes and sometimes offends

That mirror image on the other side.

Will I learn to accept it or fight against in vain? That person

Looking back at me is the essence of who I became.

Mirror mirror on the wall let me stand and not fall.

Support the me I see in you that person I thought I once knew.

Time changes the reflection staring back at you.

Don’t hold fast to that mirror image on the other side.

Move past it grow strong from what’s inside.

Walk Away

© N Noël Feb 2006

Can you walk away from the things that weigh you down

Can you picture life so free your feet

Don’t hit the ground?

Can you see light through your dark skies,

Can you walk away without tears in your eyes

Can you forget the pain your heart may feel that day, can you walk away.

Can you walk away?

Feelings of loss and dread may follow you, but deep inside you know you must save what’s true.

Can you walk away without looking back, reaching backwards to gain what you think you lack

Can you walk away only you would know;

Can you trust yourself to go?

Exhale

Breathe

© N Noël Dec 2003

I learned to breathe again when you left me
I learned to breathe again

I learned that life was much too short to hold my breath waiting for you my friend

I learned to first crawl, walk, then run as fast as the wind
I learned to breathe again
I learned to love me again

Will you walk with me?

In My Shoes

© N Noël Feb 2006

Take a walk in my shoes, tell me how they feel.
Can you feel the roads I’ve traveled?
Can you see the things I’ve seen?
Do you wonder why I cry at night and stumble in my dreams.

Take a walk in my shoes feel the pain that falls upon me when darkness comes my way.
No smooth road to follow just curves no straight away.
Take a walk in these tired weary shoes that never rest but for a day.

Take a walk in my shoes. Live my life and let me know
Would you want to be in my shoes or would you run away?
