Solitary Confinement

I won’t play games with my heart
Came through many battles and got smart
Won’t take mere words for granted
You say you want me, love me
With fantasies and dreams
I know this heart can spot
Any con man schemes
Yes it’s a job
You’ve got to put in work
These walls didn’t go up
So high by choice
I know I can’t fall for
Any shuffle or seductive dance
This heart been in
Solitary Confinement
Not by pure choice
But by default
It was given this assignment
And has learned love can scorn
Given time to heal
While locked away
From lessons that tormented it
That cut like a knife
Won’t play games with this heart
Yes, I know sometimes
We all deserve a new start
But an unknowing mistake
Can be an unforgettable set back
Are you willing to put in the work?
Or is it just lip service
And flowery torts
You hope will do the trick
Let’s just keep this in mind
Experience has taught me that
Dick is just Dick
Opening one door
Does not mean it will
Lead to the other
My friend
This heart has been in
Solitary Confinement
Won’t play games with my heart
Need a strong desire
One that will set you a part
It won’t be easy
I know this for a fact
Some take the easy way out
And never look back
Yes this heart’s been in
Solitary Confinement
Maybe with the right direction
The pain behind it
Can be replaced
Yes it will take time
So prepare for a steadfast pace
It won’t be easy
I know this for sure
But once opened
It can be a heart that
Will love, commit
Share and adore
Once out of
Solitary Confinement
